Alysia Joy Powell is a native of Southern California. Born of two parents who met in an acting class, however, started her entertainment career late in her 20's with Gospel music. First as an artist, singing with the likes of Richard Smallwood, Yolanda Adams and GMWA, and singing back up for Artists like Mary J. Blige, before managing artists. She, then, realized her childhood dream of acting, having an 20 year career in Film, TV, and Stage. (Everybody Hates Chris, The Sitter, Ma' Rainey's Black Bottom, etc.) Alysia is, currently, on The Mysteries Of Laura as Nanny Alicia, with Debra Messing and Laz Alonzo. She is pursuing her talents behind the camera, as well as a Director and writer the new web series For EBC's, St. James Place. She is, also, working on her One Woman Show, Different Shades of Love, which was featured in the Emerging Artist Festival. She is, patiently, waiting to see what God has for her next as she explores her other gifts and talent such as; screen writing, stand up, and making jewelry for her jewelry line "My Diva-Tude" and clothing line "Timeless" by My Diva-Tude.
